Caitlin Stobie is a writer, researcher and university teacher working across fiction, poetry and literary criticism.

She is the author of three books: Abortion Ecologies in Southern African Fiction (Bloomsbury Academic, 2023), Thin Slices (Verve Poetry Press, 2022), and The Smell of Blood and Other Stories (Karavan Press, 2024, co-authored with Kharys Ateh Laue). Her work has been supported by an Authors’ Foundation grant from the Society of Authors and shortlisted for the University English Book Prize and the Ingrid Jonker Prize for English Poetry, among others.
 

Caitlin teaches creative writing at the University of Warwick and creative approaches to bioethics at the University of Oxford. Previously, she was Lecturer in Creative Writing at the University of Leeds. She is a member of the editorial team at Stand.
