About

Caitlin Stobie is a writer and scholar working across fiction, poetry, and literary criticism. Her work examines how narrative and creative practice shape ethical questions in environmental and medical contexts. 

She is the author of three books: Abortion Ecologies in Southern African Fiction (Bloomsbury Academic, 2023), Thin Slices (Verve Poetry Press, 2022), and The Smell of Blood and Other Stories (Karavan Press, 2024, co-authored with Kharys Ateh Laue). Her work has been supported by an Authors’ Foundation grant from the Society of Authors, and shortlisted for the University English Book Prize and the Ingrid Jonker Prize for English Poetry, among others.


She is Lecturer in Creative Writing and Practice Research Lead at the University of Leeds, and a member of the editorial team at Stand
